How to upload a 120 fps video to TikTok

High-frame-rate edits look amazing in your editor, then lose their smoothness once posted. Here is how to keep 60 or 120 fps motion when you upload to TikTok.

Export at a constant 60 or 120 fps

In your editing app, set the export frame rate to 60 or 120 fps and make sure it's constant. Phone recordings are often variable frame rate: always export them through your editor first.

In CapCut: Export → Frame rate → 60 or 120. Keep 1080p for the smoothest playback on every phone.

Prepare the file before posting

Run your export through SNGmethod: the frame rate and quality are preserved and the file is ready in seconds. SNGmethod accepts 30, 60 and 120 fps videos (30 fps keeps its sharpness, but 60 or 120 fps is what makes motion truly smooth).

Upload from the website, not the app

Post from tiktok.com in Chrome or Edge. On a phone, use the Chrome or Edge app with "Desktop site" turned on. Don't edit the video in TikTok after uploading.

Why it can still look like 60 fps

Many phones display at most 60 frames per second (60 Hz screen), and battery-saver modes often cap the refresh rate. A 120 fps video still plays smoothly there, but the full 120 fps effect is only visible on a 120 Hz screen.

Post your next video in full quality

Prepare it in seconds, then post it exactly as you exported it.
